SINGAPORE - Ever come across a picture of a certain outfit or accessory online and thought: "I wish I knew where to buy that."

Well, now you can do just that on AsiaOne, via a new visual commerce platform developed by artificial intelligence company ViSenze.

AsiaOne is the first website in Singapore to use the feature.

This new technology analyses the visual attributes of online visual content, including images and videos, and automatically links them to contextually relevant merchandise from hundreds of brands and millions of products.

When readers see an outfit in a photo or video that catches their interest, they no longer need to tediously search for similar items manually. Instead, they only need to hover over the product within the image, and will then be able to click through directly to the retailer's website.

According to ViSenze, the image recognition technology is able to perform object recognition, and then analyse the style, shape, colour and pattern of the item before linking it to visually similar items, making the user journey quick and easy.

Popular brands that users can shop from with this widget include ASOS, Zalora, Lazada, Muji, Under Armour, Charles and Keith, Pedro, Reebonz and many more.

The visual recognition feature is currently available on AsiaOne's Women section.
